Meet Showmax CEO Marc Jury

Showmax wanted candidates and employees to know who was leading them. So instead of a corporate address, we made a portrait of a man who cooks for his daughter's birthday and can't leave the Nik Naks alone.

THE COMPANY

Showmax is one of Africa's largest streaming services.

A fast-moving business hiring across tech, content and product, competing for the same people as every other streaming and technology company on the continent.

THE CHALLENGE

Show the person behind the title.

Who someone would be working for is one of the most decisive factors in whether they accept an offer, and candidates almost never get to find out before they've signed. The default is a CEO address that tells them nothing they couldn't read in a press release.

WHAT WE DID

Filmed him as himself.

We built a warm, personal portrait of Marc: his kids, his golf, cooking for his daughter's birthday, right down to his weakness for Nik Naks, which we put on screen.

Produced end to end, concept to final cut. The small human details are what make a leader feel like a person rather than a position, so we structured the film around those rather than around strategy.

THE RESULT

A leader people recognised.

Internally, a name at the top of the org chart became someone employees could place. Externally, candidates got a real sense of who they'd be working for before they ever walked in.
